Plymouth Township has received a new application for a data center at the former steel plant at 900 Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken. The developer, Brian O'Neill, is seeking a special exception to allow the data center in the Heavily Industrial Zoning District. A previous application from O'Neill was withdrawn in 2025 after a disagreement with the property owner, Cleveland Cliffs, and the planning commission had voted against recommending the special exception.

Gov: Plymouth Township, Plymouth Township Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board
Plymouth Township announced on May 1st that it has received a new application for the development of a data center at the former steel plant located at 900 Conshohocken Road in Conshohocken. The applicant is an entity associated with developer Brian O'Neill and is seeking a special exception to permit a data center within the area's Heavily Industrial Zoning District.
This is not Brian O'Neill's first attempt at developing the site; he previously submitted an application in 2025. That earlier application was withdrawn due to a disagreement with the property owner, Cleveland Cliffs, which formerly operated the steel plant. During the review of the initial application, the township's planning commission had voted against recommending the special exception to the zoning hearing board.
