Speculation is rising among residents of Brookwood, Alabama, regarding the potential construction of a data center within city limits. Locals have taken to social media to discuss "Project Evolve," a proposed development that involves the annexation and rezoning of over 1000 acres of property. Residents express frustration over a perceived lack of transparency from city leaders regarding the project details.

A petition for annexation and rezoning related to "Project Evolve," originating from a Dallas, Texas-based company, is publicly displayed at the Brookwood Police Department. Despite this, city officials have not provided confirmation or information about the development. Brookwood resident Lacie Willingham stated that her family was approached about selling their property for the development two months prior, but declined due to insufficient information.

Willingham further revealed that they were asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to receive any information about the proposed construction. The petition requests industrial zoning for the property, with the proposed construction currently listed as "to be determined." Attempts by CBS 42's Scott Minshall to contact the listed developer of Project Evolve were unsuccessful.
