Local coalitions sue Franklin County, data center developers
The Franklin County Rural Coalition and Pacific Root Coalition sued the Franklin County Commission and developers involved in the proposed Crooked Creek and Diamond Farm data centers. The lawsuit challenges the legal process behind newly adopted data center regulations and the rezoning of more than 100 acres for hyperscale facilities.
The Franklin County Rural Coalition and Pacific Root Coalition filed lawsuits seeking judicial review of county decisions involving the proposed Crooked Creek and Diamond Farm data centers in Franklin County, Missouri. The groups are challenging four orders adopted by the Franklin County Commission, including new data center regulations and the rezoning of more than 100 acres of rural land.
Attorneys for the coalitions argue that the county may not have provided adequate notice, public participation opportunities or legal justification for the zoning and regulatory changes. The lawsuit does not establish that the county acted unlawfully; that determination will be made by the court. The commission had not responded to Spectrum News’ request for comment.
