Niagara Falls Redevelopment has unveiled plans for a $1.5 billion data center complex, to be named Niagara Digital Campus, situated on 53 acres near a key entrance to downtown Niagara Falls, New York. The proposed development includes nine buildings spanning 600,000 square feet.
The company highlights the significant economic benefits of the project, estimating the creation of 500 permanent jobs and over 5,600 temporary construction positions. Additionally, Niagara Falls Redevelopment projects $414 million in tax revenue for the City of Niagara Falls, the Niagara Falls School District, and Niagara County over a 20-year period. Despite the touted economic advantages, the large-scale nature of the data center plan is reportedly raising environmental concerns.
