New Data Center in Arcata - security contractors on site during construction

Arcata has a Data Center- here’s what it looked like under construction in late 2025. The company seen working on site is World Telecom & Surveillance, Inc. (WT&S) Based in Redding, California, they design, install, and maintain security & surveillance systems, telephone, voicemail and intercom systems, access control systems, and fiber, voice, and data cabling systems for businesses of all types and sizes. They also offer VOIP phone systems, nurse call systems, and business internet services. According to reporting by List Coast Outpost, Virginia-based company EdgeConneX purchased the former Nilsen Feed Company property on 11th Street in Arcata and announced plans to convert one of the buildings into a data center — specifically a cable landing station that serves as the terminal for transpacific fiber optic lines running between the California coast and Singapore.
