Oppidan Investment Company is nearing completion of a new 14-megawatt, $80 million data center project, dubbed "Connect Temple," in Temple, Texas, close to Meta's existing campus. The facility is expected to be operational in a few months and will create 12 permanent jobs and 150-200 construction jobs.

The $80 million investment significantly exceeds the $31 million construction cost initially listed in state filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Adrian Cannady, President and CEO of the Temple Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), clarified that the higher figure includes nearly $50 million for personal property, primarily servers and other equipment, beyond the building's cost. The City of Temple plans to tax both the building and personal property.

Oppidan Developer Dylan Rusk confirmed that neither the City of Temple nor TEDC provided any tax incentives or economic development agreements for the project. Rusk also stated that the facility, an edge data center, is contracted for 14-megawatts of electrical capacity and there are no plans to expand its footprint. Oppidan had purchased 10 acres for the project from TEDC in March 2025. The company is also developing a similar edge data center project in El Paso.
