Michigan House committee hears testimony on data centers

With one data center in operation and another planned, Kent County's Gaines Township has been a part of the debate on the facilities used to hold data and power artificial intelligence. The Michigan House Corporate Subsidies and State Investments Committee held another hearing on data centers Wednesday, the fourth in a series, and the township was invited. "I believe data centers are one of, if not the most important thing facing humanity today, mostly because of artificial intelligence, where it could go and what we should or should not do, based on what it can become," Committee Chair Rep.
