South Korean electrical equipment maker LS Electric said it won a 180 billion-won ($133 million) contract to provide ultra-high-voltage transformers for a hyperscale artificial intelligence data center project in the United States. The unidentified technology company developing the facility expects it to be completed by 2030.

LS Electric said growing electricity demand from AI and cloud computing is driving increased investment in North American power infrastructure. The company expects the contract to support additional opportunities in the U.S. market, where data center power infrastructure investment is projected to grow significantly through 2035.
