The Urbana City Council in Ohio has initiated a process to reverse zoning changes enacted in 2025, prompted by concerns over language that could permit future data center developments and large industrial projects. At its May 4 meeting, the council passed a resolution introduced by Councilwoman Amy Jumper to revert the zoning code to its prior version.
This resolution does not immediately alter the current zoning regulations. Instead, it formally directs the Urbana Planning Commission to review the proposed rollback and provide a recommendation.
