The city of Maryville, Missouri, is moving forward with plans to commission an impact study focused on the potential water usage of the proposed White Cloud Acres data center project. This action comes after a Maryville City Council meeting where several residents, including Scott Wilson from Bolckow, expressed strong opposition to the project during over an hour of public comments.

Maryville Mayor John McBride voiced his support for a suggestion to hold a joint town hall meeting where local elected officials can engage directly with residents about the data center project.

City Manager Ryan Heiland provided an overview of an independent feasibility study previously commissioned by the PWSD No. 1 board. This study, carried out by Lamp Rynearson and paid for by Scale Microgrids, the project's developer, was overseen by White Cloud Engineering and Construction. The report specifically assessed the water resources available for the data center and its associated natural gas power plant.
