Marengo, Hale Residents Hold Meeting on Proposed Data Center

Almost 100 residents from Marengo and Hale counties convened in downtown Demopolis, Alabama, on April 30, for a town meeting addressing a proposed data center in Marengo County. The event, hosted by Black Belt Women Rising, featured representatives from the Southern Environmental Law Center and the Alabama Rivers Alliance. Participants discussed potential strategies to prevent the data center's development or, alternatively, to ensure that the community's concerns are adequately considered and resolved should the project move forward. The proceedings of the meeting were subsequently featured in a segment of the Black Belt Newscast.
