Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors votes to approve PAX-1 development
The Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors voted to approve further development of the PAX-1 data center after a contentious public comment session. This decision comes despite a recently filed lawsuit by the group Stop PACX One, which is seeking a stay of construction. A hearing for the lawsuit is scheduled for September 18th.
The Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors approved further development for the PAX-1 data center at a meeting held at Cumberland Valley High School. The decision followed more than three hours of contentious public comment from hundreds of residents expressing their opposition to the project.
The board voted to approve all agenda items, including a master developer agreement, a Phase 1B amendment, a community benefits agreement, and a final side letter. This vote occurred just one day after a common pleas judge issued an order requiring the developer and the Board of Supervisors to provide justification for the continuation of construction. This judicial order stems from a lawsuit filed by the group "Stop PACX One," which is seeking a stay of construction for the data center project.
A hearing for the lawsuit regarding the stay of construction is currently scheduled for September 18th.
