DarkHorse Technologies Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Pennyrile Holdings LLC, signed a 10-year power contract with Hopkinsville Electric System for up to 50 MW at a planned superintelligence factory in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The project is the first facility advanced under the company’s focus on the Tennessee Valley Authority region and would increase DarkHorse’s contracted TVA-region power to about 100 MW.

DarkHorse will fund construction of a 65 MW substation connected to TVA’s 161-kilovolt transmission system and convey the site to HES. HES General Manager Jeff Hurd said the project will improve grid stability and provide about 15 MW of additional capacity for existing customers. The project remains subject to local permitting, utility construction and other conditions, with DarkHorse given an 18-month period to obtain approvals.
