Scott Wilson, the backup water operator for the city of Bolckow, announced his independent candidacy for Presiding Commissioner of the Nodaway County Commission. Wilson stated his decision was driven by concerns over the proposed White Cloud Acres data center project and its potential impact on the downstream water system, specifically in Bolckow. He noted that incumbent Republican Chris Burns, currently the North District Commissioner, was running unopposed, prompting many citizens to seek an alternative candidate due to Governor Mike Kehoe's reported support for data centers.
