The hyperscale data center in Dowagiac, Michigan, which has been the subject of ongoing noise complaints for months, has ceased its bitcoin mining operations. This action followed a class action lawsuit filed by residents in May due to the constant, loud noise emanating from the facility.

Meredith Shimer, a Cass County Community Reporter, highlighted the stark contrast in noise levels, noting that previously the area was dominated by the data center's sound, but now only natural sounds are heard. Residents living across the street from the data center expressed their frustration and concern. One resident, whose family has lived in their home for three generations, mentioned that Hyperscale offered fair market value and moving expenses to property owners on their street, but felt no amount of money could compensate for their established lives and renovated homes. Another property owner claimed they were unaware of the data center's nature when they moved in last year.
