City of Farmington plans data center informational meeting
Farmington will hold an informational meeting about data center infrastructure, environmental standards and municipal oversight on Oct. 21 at the Farmington Civic Center. City officials say no formal data center project is currently under consideration, but feedback from residents will help shape potential future policy.
The City of Farmington will host a data center informational presentation from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Farmington Civic Center. City Manager Shaña Reeves, Mayor Nate Duckett and city council members are expected to attend the session, which will feature subject-matter experts and department heads rather than an open-mic format.
Reeves said the event responds to residents’ interest in understanding data center development and emphasized that the city has no formal project before it. The presentation will cover facility scale, infrastructure, environmental standards and local review processes, while surveys and resident questions will help guide city leaders as they consider a formal data center policy resolution.
