Public hearing set for Nov. 16 re: data center

Kossuth County’s Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to consider a temporary moratorium on data center construction during a Nov. 16 public hearing. The commission’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors.
The supervisors requested the review to determine whether a temporary ban would give the county time to draft ordinances governing data center development. Kossuth County currently lacks regulations specifically addressing data center construction, and no final decision on the moratorium had been reported.
