New details are emerging about a proposed $1.7 billion data center project in South Annville Township, as developers publicly outlined their plans for the first time to commissioners and community members.

Representatives with Inch & Co. presented a conceptual plan for a data center complex that would span nearly 100 acres off Route 422.

The project, still in its early stages, would include five large buildings designed to house computer servers that support cloud storage and other digital infrastructure. Developers say the buildings would resemble warehouses from the outside and stand about 50 feet tall, with additional rooftop equipment.
