Malvern Weighs Boroughwide Zoning Overhaul Ahead of Vote
Malvern Borough Council is considering a comprehensive replacement of the borough’s zoning ordinance and official map. The proposed framework includes specific regulations for data centers and environmental protections, with a public hearing and possible adoption vote scheduled for October 20.
Malvern Borough Council is preparing to hold a public hearing and potentially vote on a comprehensive replacement of the borough’s zoning ordinance and official map. The proposal would repeal and replace Chapter 220 and establish new residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, redevelopment and conservation districts across the borough.
The proposed framework includes regulations for data centers, solar-energy systems, communications facilities and planned-campus developments, as well as floodplain, steep-slope, stormwater and historic-resource protections. The ordinance remains under consideration and has not been enacted; the effects on individual properties and development density would depend on comparisons between the existing and proposed zoning maps.
