Chesterfield County leaders hosted a public forum at Brightpoint Community College where representatives from Google, Dominion Energy and Chirisa answered questions about the data center expansion. Up to nine projects could be located in the county, with seven already built or under construction.

Residents raised concerns about water supplies, electric capacity and environmental impacts, including possible pollution. Company representatives said they have processes to connect data center customers only when the electric system can serve them reliably and promised to keep working with the community, but the responses did not resolve all concerns among attendees.
