Piedmont City Council to decide on revised data center project after concerns raised
The Piedmont City Council is set to vote on a revised data center project after previous pushback. Developer Cloverleaf Infrastructure has made amendments to its plans, including adhering to the city's sound ordinance, not drilling water wells, and removing power generation components. The council previously postponed a decision, and residents await the outcome of tonight's meeting.
Piedmont City leaders are scheduled to decide tonight on a revised data center project, which has faced significant pushback from the community and city officials.
The project, proposed by Cloverleaf Infrastructure (a Cimarron Project Company), was previously presented to the Piedmont City Council on August 24th, where members were reportedly "less than receptive" of the initial plans, leading the council to postpone a decision.
In response to concerns, Cloverleaf Infrastructure has made several amendments to their original Planned Unit Development plan. These revisions include agreeing to adhere to the city's sound ordinance, refraining from drilling water wells on the property, and removing the power generation component from the plans.
The City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:30 PM tonight, where a vote on the zoning for the data center project is possible. The community is awaiting the council's decision on whether to approve the land rezoning for the revised proposal.
