Where is Prince William County’s promised data center tax relief?

Prince William County has more than 55 data centers, with more than 75 additional facilities planned. So why haven’t residents seen the significant tax cuts the industry was told it would bring? Supervisor Yesli Vega says the county spent $550 million in new data center revenue from the last budget cycle. County Chair Babur Lateef says the revenue has helped keep property taxes stable and fund public schools, which receive 57% of county revenue under a revenue-sharing agreement. 7News examines the disagreement over how the money should be used as the county adds a new approval requirement for data centers on industrial-zoned land.
