The Lake Township Board of Trustees, during their April 27 meeting, enacted a six-month moratorium on new data centers within the township. This resolution aims to temporarily halt data center development while officials consider integrating a new section specifically addressing data centers into the existing township zoning resolution.
In other business, the board rescheduled its May meetings due to conflicts, addressed an unpermitted ditch enclosure in Lake o’Pines Estates, and approved several purchases including a pipe camera for the road department and disposal services for spring clean-up. The trustees also authorized the renewal of their membership in the Stark County Township Association for 2026-27 and approved total expenditures of $116,071.25. A Board of Zoning Appeals hearing is scheduled for May 21.
