A report by ThinkTennessee played a role in highlighting strategies for the electricity board to plan for and reconcile this escalating energy usage. Shelby County, which encompasses Memphis, currently accounts for the highest data center load in Tennessee, with facilities there consuming 1,000 megawatts or more of power, according to data from the U.S. Department of Energy.
