DC Blox sues Metro over Nashville Zoo-area data center moratorium

DC BLOX, a data center company, has filed a federal lawsuit against Metro Nashville, alleging the city is unlawfully preventing the development of its proposed data center located near the Nashville Zoo. The lawsuit comes after the Metro Council approved a moratorium last month, which temporarily halts data center construction until further regulations can be established.
DC BLOX had submitted building permit applications in May, prior to the moratorium's introduction. The company is asking a judge to declare the moratorium unconstitutional and compel Metro Nashville to immediately process its permits. Furthermore, DC BLOX is seeking financial damages from the city.
Metro Nashville officials have issued a statement indicating their preparation to defend against DC BLOX's claims.
