Power management company Eaton revealed plans to invest more than $30 million in a new 370,000-square-foot facility in Bellevue, Nebraska, within the greater Omaha area. The expansion is driven by the escalating demand for medium-voltage switchgear, crucial equipment for electrical systems in data centers, utilities, and industrial power generation. Construction is slated to begin in 2027 and is projected to create over 200 engineering, manufacturing, and production jobs.
Mike Yelton, president of Eaton's Electrical Sector, emphasized the company's commitment to U.S. manufacturing growth and its efforts to provide rapid, repeatable deployment solutions for data centers. He expressed gratitude for the support from the state of Nebraska and the city of Bellevue. Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen lauded Eaton's expansion, citing the state's competitive advantages, affordability, growing workforce, and business-friendly governance. The new facility will specifically support the high volume of switchgear structures required by AI data center customers, with the U.S. switchgear market projected to grow significantly by 2034.
