Sugarloaf Twp. appoints son to his father’s term as supervisor

Joseph DiSabella Jr. has been appointed to the Sugarloaf Township Board of Supervisors, filling the unexpired term of his late father, Joseph DiSabella Sr., who passed away on March 11. DiSabella Jr. was sworn into office on March 20, expressing his commitment to serving the township residents, a priority his father also championed. The township and LBT Investment Group LLC of Chicago are currently engaged in a legal process to formulate a "curative amendment" to the local zoning ordinance. This amendment is specifically intended to regulate data centers, with LBT Investment Group LLC proposing to construct a data center along Tomhicken Road. The proposed data center and an associated high-voltage power line project have sparked considerable opposition from residents over the past year. This has led to contentious discussions during crowded supervisors' meetings, highlighting community concerns about such developments.
