Sioux City planning data center zoning regulations discussion
Sioux City's Planning and Zoning Commission will discuss proposed zoning regulations for potential data centers in Woodbury County. Existing ordinances do not include a data center category, and the commission plans to gather public feedback before drafting an amendment for a later meeting.
The Sioux City Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to discuss zoning regulations for potential data centers at an Oct. 13 meeting. A city press release said current zoning ordinances do not contain a specific category for data centers, prompting the review of new rules.
Public comments will be accepted during the session. The commission is expected to evaluate and draft an amendment to the existing ordinances, with the proposed changes set for additional discussion at a follow-up meeting on Oct. 27.
