Progressive Lakeshore People, an organization based in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, is collaborating with the Bail Out the People Movement to host two public presentations addressing the perceived dangers of data centers and corporate power structures. The first event is scheduled for tonight in Sheboygan at Jake’s on Ontario Avenue, while a second will take place tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc.
Both presentations will feature National Corporate Researcher Ric Urrutia, who will delve into the intertwined corporate and banking interests of entities like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and various data center owners. Urrutia is expected to highlight the potential risks these relationships pose to local communities, family farmers, the environment, and workers. Jill Iverson, an organizer with Progressive Lakeshore People, stated that despite Manitowoc County's ongoing efforts to implement a moratorium on data center development, there remains a critical need for citizens to be fully informed about the complexities of this issue.
