The Whitemarsh Township planning commission in Pennsylvania is scheduled to review a draft data center ordinance on July 15th. This proposed ordinance aims to allow data centers as a conditional use within six of the township's zoning districts, a measure driven by Pennsylvania state law prohibiting outright bans on legal land uses.
The draft was developed using a model ordinance from Montgomery and Chester Counties, alongside resources from PennFuture, an environmental advocacy organization. Whitemarsh Township currently has no active proposals for data center developments listed on its official website.
