Virginia supervisor charged after daring a data center critic to parking lot confrontation
A Virginia supervisor was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery after a physical confrontation with a data center critic in a parking lot following a Warren County board meeting. The incident occurred after the supervisor publicly challenged the resident over social media posts.
During a Warren County board meeting, Supervisor U. Henry publicly challenged resident J. Newell regarding social media posts Henry deemed threatening and profane. Henry offered to meet Newell outside after the meeting to discuss the matter.
Witnesses later informed Fox 5 that in the parking lot following the meeting, Supervisor Henry allegedly pushed Newell to the ground. Sheriff's deputies quickly intervened and separated the two individuals.
As a result of the altercation, Supervisor U. Henry now faces a misdemeanor assault and battery charge and is scheduled to appear in court on October 21.
