City officials in Edmond, Piedmont and Enid, Oklahoma, are scheduled to review data center development this week. Edmond’s City Council will discuss how data centers should be addressed in the city’s development regulations after adopting a six-month moratorium in June over the need for further research and concerns about water usage. Planning Director Ken Bryan is expected to present draft language for treating data centers as a potential land use.

Piedmont officials will consider a rezoning application for a proposed data center, while Enid will hear from developers behind Project Thunderbird. Jason Singer of Plainsmen Holdings said the project was founded by four people with ties to Enid. The meetings could shape future data center rules and development decisions in all three cities.
