Residents of the Town of Torrey held a community forum in Penn Yan to discuss converting Greenidge Generation's former cryptocurrency mining facility in the Village of Dresden into an AI data center under Vulcan Infrastructure and Power. Neighbors, including Leah Murray, cited persistent noise and potential impacts on farms, wildlife and nearby communities.

The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is seeking an environmental study and more information about the facility's water, cooling and electricity requirements. Board president Bill Roegge said the project could require substantial upgrades to electrical infrastructure and urged state review. Residents are also pressing the Torrey Town Board to consider a moratorium on new data centers while the town evaluates the proposal and gathers public input.
