Plans for a significant development in rural Perry County, Pennsylvania, are shifting as Baltimore-based MRP Industrial has submitted a proposal to construct an AI data center. The project, planned for 288 acres in Watts Township near Routes 22 and 322 and the Clarks Ferry Bridge, marks a departure from a previous warehouse development. Documents obtained by News Eight from the Perry County Planning Commission indicate that the site was initially slated for the "Susquehanna Crossings warehouse project." However, those plans stalled after Watts Township officials denied a final extension request for the warehouse development. With the new AI data center proposal now in play, local officials are expected to begin discussions on the project.
