Tom Morris won a seat on the Bowling Green City Commission, defeating longtime commissioner Sue Parrigin. Morris has said he wants to revisit the city’s data center regulations and possibly pursue a moratorium, while the commission has already adopted planning and zoning rules and twice rejected a six-month development moratorium.

Tom Morris was elected to the Bowling Green City Commission, replacing longtime commissioner Sue Parrigin. During the campaign, Morris said the city’s summer debate over data centers was a major factor in his candidacy and argued that residents’ views had not been adequately heard.

Bowling Green officials previously adopted planning and zoning regulations governing data centers in the city and Warren County. Commissioners twice rejected a proposed six-month moratorium on new data center development, and Morris said he intends to reassess the regulations and potentially seek stronger rules or another moratorium.
