Seven Democratic candidates for governor gathered at the state party convention in Madison, Wisconsin, to present their platforms less than two months before the primary. While many candidates focused on common issues such as affordability, health care, and education, State Rep. Francesca Hong differentiated herself by advocating for a moratorium on the construction of AI data centers. Hong stated, "I am the only candidate in this race who has called for a moratorium on the construction of AI data centers."

Other candidates, including State Sen. Kelda Roys, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, and former Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, outlined their priorities, which encompassed expanding health care access, improving economic opportunities, and taxing the wealthy. The convention, hosted by the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, concluded with speeches from all candidates. The WisGOP responded to the convention by characterizing the Democratic field as a "clown car of Governor candidates" and their resolutions as "far-left." All seven candidates are scheduled to debate live on July 28 at Marquette University.
