Gov. Abbott directs TCEQ to halt data center permits; Texas adopts rules for grid connections

Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to halt processing environmental permits for data center projects. This pause will remain until the Public Utility Commission (PUC) and ERCOT complete audits on the data centers' impacts on the state's electric grid. Additionally, Texas has adopted new rules for grid connections.
