The Middlesex Township Planning Commission has granted preliminary approval for the next phase of the PAX-1 Data Center project. Phase-1B involves the construction of a six-building data center campus, a private access drive, a security building, and on-site water and sewer storage facilities. The development is planned for the northern section of a 700-acre parcel located off Country Club Road.
This approval comes as work on the facility's substation is already underway at the site. However, the project continues to face local opposition. During the planning commission meeting, residents voiced concerns about the ongoing construction, with Middlesex Township resident Jody Shivell reporting that "the blasting shakes my house and that’s going on every day."
The preliminary plans will now proceed to the Middlesex Township Board of Supervisors for final consideration and approval during their scheduled meeting on May 6.
