Piedmont council sends Beltline Energy data center plan back to Planning Commission
The Piedmont City Council debated Beltline Energy's proposed data center and rezoning request for 321 acres. The council sent the project's master design statement back to the Planning Commission for further review of environmental studies, landscaping, setbacks and compliance requirements.
Piedmont City Council members debated Beltline Energy's proposed data center into the early hours during a Monday meeting. Beltline Energy is seeking to rezone 321 acres between North 2910 and 2920 roads, north of Azalea Street and south of East 870 Road.
The Planning Commission previously recommended forwarding the master design plan to the council but urged that no action be taken until concerns about additional studies, landscaping, setbacks, environmental-study requirements and ongoing compliance were addressed. After the discussion, the council returned the master design statement to the Planning Commission, which is scheduled to meet Nov. 17.
