Protesters disrupted Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg's weekly news conference on July 14, unfurling a banner that read "Stop Steve Poe's Data Center" and chanting in opposition to a proposed hyperscale data center in West Louisville.

The project, spearheaded by Louisville-based Poe Companies and Virginia-based PowerHouse Data Centers, plans to build Jefferson County's first hyperscale data center at 6001 Camp Ground Road, with the initial phase slated for late 2026. Security escorted the activists out, and Mayor Greenberg commented on the "energy and activism" surrounding data center issues.

Greenberg also referenced data center regulations being drafted by Louisville Metro Council officials and the over 3,600 public comments received. He further noted that four public hearings on data centers in Louisville are scheduled.
