Right now, Prince William County has more than 55 data centers, with over 75 more on the way. On Tuesday, the board of supervisors approved a requirement for companies that own industrial-zoned land to go through an approval process to build these massive facilities.

It's a requirement that didn't exist before, which fueled the county's data center boom.

With the county taking in significant tax revenue from data centers, 7News asked County Supervisor Yesli Vega why residents aren’t getting significant tax cuts.
