Google is planning a significant AI-focused data center project in Little Rock, Arkansas, with an estimated cost of $1 billion. This facility, located at the Port of Little Rock, is projected to consume more than 100 megawatts of electricity, a substantial amount comparable to the usage of 100,000 households, exceeding the total number of households in Little Rock itself. Despite the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District issuing a revised public notice detailing the project's energy demands, Google has not made a formal announcement. The tech giant has confirmed purchasing land in Little Rock but stated its current focus is on developing a data center in West Memphis. However, sources corroborated Google's involvement in the Little Rock project to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in January. The planned development includes five industrial buildings totaling about 1.43 million square feet, two office or support buildings, and an electrical substation or switching station.
