Taylor Township Supervisor Chairman Jerome Dodson clarified that discussions are still preliminary, stating that Terawatt has not yet submitted any permits, applications, or plans to the township.
The proposed data center would occupy a large 330-acre footprint on a hill, with plans suggesting that an existing demolition area on the site could be transformed into a recreational park for residents. Dodson also highlighted the potential economic benefits, such as increased tax revenue for local school districts and the township, which could ultimately lead to lower taxes for property owners.
Pennsylvania State Lawmaker Scott Barter noted that decisions regarding such developments are typically left to local leaders and encouraged residents to attend future informational meetings to have their questions addressed.
