The Glendale City Council is set to convene on September 22 to hear a presentation regarding a blank petition for the annexation of a 160-acre site. This site is designated for the development of Project Eagle, formerly known as Project Baccara, which includes a data center and a natural gas turbine power generation facility. The meeting will provide West Valley residents an opportunity to voice their opinions on the proposed development.

The property, located north of Olive Avenue and a half-mile west of Litchfield Road, would become eligible for property owners to sign the annexation petition following the presentation. The city attorney Michael Bailey confirmed during an August 25 City Council workshop that the project has already secured the necessary approvals, including a compatibility permit from Luke Air Force Base and a prior endorsement from the Maricopa County board of supervisors, effectively deeming the project approved by Maricopa County.
