Prosper postpones consideration of possible data center
The Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission has postponed its review of Project Tomahawk, a proposed data center by White Rose Partners. Town staff requested more time to thoroughly review engineering studies concerning the project's potential noise, power, and water impacts. A new date for consideration has not yet been scheduled.
The Prosper Planning and Zoning Commission has postponed its review of "Project Tomahawk," a proposed 39.3-acre data center by White Rose Partners in Prosper, Texas. The project, planned near the intersection of FM 1385 and Parvin Road, was removed from the August 18 agenda, and a new date for its consideration has not yet been set.
David Hoover, Prosper's director of Development Services, explained that town staff needed additional time to obtain and fully review engineering studies related to the data center's potential impacts on noise, power, and water. White Rose Partners, the developer, has indicated on its website that the project is designed to mitigate these concerns through features like a closed-loop water system, sound-dampening screens, and greenery. The developer also committed to covering any necessary upgrades to the adjacent Brazos Electric Power Cooperative substation.
