Zydeco Development withdraws zoning request for data center in Hutto

Austin-based commercial real estate firm Zydeco Development has withdrawn its zoning request for a proposed data center on 450 Ed Schmidt Boulevard in Hutto, Texas. The company had sought to rezone the property from residential to industrial to facilitate the development. The withdrawal follows active opposition from local residents. Prior to Zydeco's decision, Hutto residents organized and held a press conference on April 16 at the intended site to express their strong disapproval of the data center project.
