The town of Foxboro, Massachusetts, is proposing a new zoning bylaw that would prohibit data processing centers. This measure, scheduled for a vote at a special town meeting on November 9, stems from growing concerns over the impact of these facilities on local water and electrical services.

If enacted, Foxboro would be the first community in the Attleboro region to completely ban data centers. Neighboring Mansfield currently permits only small-scale data centers, while Attleboro has a two-year moratorium in place.
