The Winneshiek County Planning and Zoning Commission’s data center subcommittee is working on an ordinance that would establish local rules for data center development. The group reviewed its progress during an Oct. 13 meeting and circulated an eight-page draft that could eventually become the county’s official ordinance.
The subcommittee had also previously met with officials from Decorah as it continued considering how to regulate data centers in the county. The ordinance remains in draft form and has not yet been finalized or adopted.
