Stack Infrastructure plans a 21-building data center campus at the Berry Hill Megasite in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to be developed over 15 years. The project could require up to 7 million gallons of water and 3,000 megawatts of power daily, generate up to $100 billion in capital investment and create more than 2,000 permanent jobs; a permit decision is expected by March 2027.

A joint application submitted to state and federal agencies outlines Stack Infrastructure’s proposed data center campus at the Berry Hill Megasite in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. The 3,500-acre site could eventually contain 21 buildings developed over 15 years, with up to $100 billion in capital investment and more than 2,000 permanent jobs.

At full capacity, the campus could use as much as 7 million gallons of water and 3,000 megawatts of power daily. Eden, North Carolina, Public Works Director Melinda Ward said an agreement is being negotiated to supply water from the Smith and Dan river system across the state line, potentially for up to 40 years. Pittsylvania County Economic Development Director Matt Rowe said the site’s existing substation and nearby 765-kilovolt transmission line provide substantial power capacity, while emphasizing that the maximum usage is not guaranteed. The project’s end user has not been identified, and a permit decision is expected by March 2027.
