Residents of Caddo Parish, Louisiana, voiced continued opposition to new data center development during a recent Caddo Parish Commission work session. Commissioners heard multiple public comments from residents, who also supported two resolutions currently under consideration.

One resolution, introduced by Commissioner Ken Epperson, requests all data center developers to produce environmental impact studies. The other, from Commissioner John Paul Young, proposes a two-year moratorium on new data center development in unincorporated areas of Caddo Parish. Commissioner Young emphasized listening to residents' concerns, stating that people from diverse backgrounds feel excluded from the process due to a lack of information.

Following a series of votes and disruptions, the Commission ultimately agreed to refer both resolutions back to committee for further discussion.
